Research interests

The Research Professor of Health Economics and Policy deals with the allocation and distribution of scarce resources in the healthcare system. It uses microeconomic analysis and econometric methods to create an evidence-based decision-making basis for politicians and managers in the healthcare sector. The professorship focuses on economic issues of ageing societies, such as care provision and the prevention of dementia. The research professorship is integrated into the research focus of Health Management and Policy at the Institute of Health Management and examines the political implications.
