Research interests

Dr. Köttl holds the Research Professorship Equity in AI-Powered Age-Inclusive Healthcare (EQUIP-AI) at IMC University of Applied Sciences Krems and directs the Applied Health Sciences master’s program. Further, she leads the CROB and AgeIsm research projects, focusing on technology, healthcare, and social equity in older age. Dr. Köttl completed her PhD within the EU H2020 ITN EuroAgeism project, studying ageism and technology adoption among older adults. She has extensive international experience, having lived and worked in Belgium, Switzerland, Togo, Bangladesh, and Israel, and collaborated with institutions such as UNECE and AGE Platform Europe. Her work is recognized through numerous first-author publications in top journals and awards like the President's Prize for Publication. Major milestones include the securing of independent funding under diverse funding schemes and being invited by the EU Fundamental Rights Agency to prepare a key policy report on digital access for older adults. In addition, she serves as Associate Editor for the Journal of Medical Internet Research Ageing.
