Description
The WST3-funded project ‘HELIX – Knowledge Valorisation through Standards and Norms’ deals with the topic of technology transfer from science to economy. In particular, it examines the channel of standards creation (standardisation) as a new, hitherto little-noticed way of making scientific findings marketable and generating social impact, thereby valorising knowledge. This project is anchored in the emerging interdisciplinary research on standards and standardisation. The aim is to determine the extent to which researchers, especially those from Lower Austria, participate in standardisation, why they do so (motivation), what influence they have on the design of standards, what challenges they face and, finally, how their participation in the relevant committees can be improved and promoted.
